Writing Your Resume for a Security Guard Job with no Experience

Now that you have completed your security guard training as a fresh newly graduate of this profession, you are now ready to apply and offer your services to those who are in need. In short, you can now look for a suitable job as a security guard.

But before you can apply for a security guard job, there is one important requirement that you need and this is your “resume”. Writing your resume is a very crucial part because it contains all vital information that you are going to present to your employer.

If you missed to put some important detail on your resume or it is not quite presentable that your employer could not understand, this will most likely end up for your application being rejected. I myself had already experienced this several times that I gave myself an additional time just to learn proper writing of resume.

Always double check the content of your resume or perhaps, you can ask your friend or much better, someone whom you know who already work as a security guard to inspect your resume. He or she might even give you some valuable tips.

Make your Objective Clear and Concise

As an applicant, your resume should prioritize in explaining about your main objective particularly for applying the position that you are trying to aim.

It should answer the question why do you want that position? Do you have the necessary skill?

You have to use words that can truly encourage your employer that you are one serious and highly dedicated person who if perfectly fit for the job.

Include your Educational Background

On this day, having an educational background aside from your security guard training that you accomplished is a huge factor on your resume. In fact, most employers do prefer those who graduated or finished a degree that is relevant to the job.

Let’s say that you have completed a degree in some field of computer course. And, you are trying to apply as one of those security officers who monitors surveillance cameras. Well, that’s a huge credit on your part meaning, you got a huge chance of being hired.

When adding your educational background on your resume, you have to put some short description explaining about what you learned from them.

Also, include the name of your school especially when your school got good and high reputation. Being aware that you completed your educational background from such school means that, you got an excellent quality type of education or training which is huge plus on your resume.

Write about your Previous Jobs or Experiences

Since you just completed your training as a security guard, it is understood that you do not have any experience yet. But what is being referred here is about, your previous job or work before you even started your security guard training.

If your last job is unrelated to the position that you are trying to apply, you still need to include it on your resume.

Why?

Your work history can actually tell a lot more about yourself. Let’s say that you worked for 5 years on a certain company until it went bankrupt that you have to look for another job. This means that you possess loyalty which most companies do like.

That is just one among the few reasons why most employers are willing to hire applicants with no relevant experience. They are simply looking for the person with the right characteristics.

If you got hired with no experience at all, expect that your employer will offer you the right training that you need.

Do not fake your Resume

You can actually put anything on your resume including fake information about yourself. But, do not do this because employers can easily find out about it.

Most employers are trained to filter resume with fake information particularly during your interview. So you will most likely going to get caught. If it happens that you managed to get the job, your employer will still be able to find out about it when they do an actual background check. When finally caught, you can say goodbye to your job.

Thus, be honest about everything that you put into your resume. If you do not have any experience yet, then so be it. Again, you have to know that some companies are willing to hire applicants with no experience at all since they will offer the training you need.

Moreover, it may be a challenge trying to apply for a job as a security officer especially when you do not have any experience. But always keep in mind that, there are always companies out there who give opportunities to those with zero experience but they must have accomplished the necessary security guard training required.
