The company or clients seeking to employ security guards are actually the once that dictates the job description. But in general, security guards main role are meant to secure and monitor their assigned premises. It is their duty to prevent thieves, violence and anyone who breaks the rules implemented by the company whom they work.

Security guards who are transporting money in-and-out from the banks must have the ability to drive an armored car.

Reporting to the Proper Authorities

During serious emergency situations, a security guard must immediately be able to call the proper authorities for help. For example, if an uncontrollable fire incident occurs, a security guard should be able to call the fire department as soon as possible. As for crimes, security guards cannot really make official arrests so they still have to contact the police authorities.
